Special Events

        LOCAL EVENTS                                 

The D.A. runs a series of special events each year some of which count towards a national CTC Touring Competition - details on CTC website - which is strongly contested.

Full details of all events will appear in the list of rides at the appropriate time.

The events usually include:-

50 km in 2.5 to 3.5 hrs.  Sunday 20th March 2016.        Entry fee £2.00
Start and finish at Upper Dicker Village Hall.   Start time - 10:00 a.m.    
Hall open from 9:00 a.m.   
      Refreshments at finish..

Southdowns Randonnees   50, 80 & 100 km distances.        Entry fee £4:00
This popular series of rides is usually run in May.  It starts and finishes at Ringmer Scout Hut (by the Green)

Battle 50 & 100km Randonnees  (organised by the Midweek Section)
11th September 2016  -          
Entry fee £6 for 50km; £8 for 100km
                                                                £2 extra for entry on the line.

Hillclimb - a fun event - estimate how long it wiill take you.
Usually held the 1st Sunday in October

Freewheeling competition - another fun event.
Usually held in November before the East Sussex AGM.

Cyclists Carol Service.
Usually held on a saturday afternoon in the first two weeks of December, at a church in the Hailsham/Horam area.
All members and friends are welcome and tea and cake is served after the service. It is not necessary to arrive by bike.

East Sussex CTC Lunch.
The extremely popular Club Lunch, catered by the ladies of the Group.
This is usually held around the end of November / beginning of December - and full details and booking form will appear in the October/November Runs List & Newsletter

CTC Birthday Rides. A week long camping & cycling rally held in a different D.A. area each year during August.

CTC York Rally. Held on a weekend in mid-June this is the countries
largest cycle rally, with lots of events and trade stands.

CTC New Forest Cycle Week. An informal week of camping & cycling in July. Many rides use the Forest tracks. Click here for latest details.
